Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about SigBin Labs hardware — BW16 Deauther, BW20-07s WarDriver, ESP32 tools, and ordering.
What is a BW16 Deauther?
A BW16 Deauther is a compact Wi-Fi deauthentication device built on the Realtek BW16 module. It can send 802.11 deauthentication frames on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, making it one of the few portable deauthers capable of 5GHz. SigBin Labs builds the BW16 Deauther for authorized wireless research and educational use only.
What is the difference between a BW16 Deauther and an ESP32 Deauther?
The key difference is 5GHz support. The ESP32 Deauther operates only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The BW16 Deauther uses the Realtek BW16 module which supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, making it a more capable tool for modern wireless research. SigBin Labs builds both BW16 and ESP32-based research tools.
What is a 5GHz Deauther?
A 5GHz Deauther is a hardware device capable of sending Wi-Fi deauthentication packets on the 5GHz band. Most consumer deauthers only support 2.4GHz. The SigBin Labs BW16 Deauther is a 5GHz-capable deauther built on the Realtek BW16 chipset, designed for authorized security research.
What is a WarDriver?
A WarDriver is a portable device used to scan, detect, and log Wi-Fi networks while moving through an area. The SigBin Labs BW20-07s WarDriver uses the BW20-07s module with GPS for location tagging, SD card storage for logging, and is compatible with wardriving platforms like WiGLE and wdgwars.
What is wdgwars?
WDGWars is a wardriving competition and community platform where participants scan Wi-Fi networks using hardware like the SigBin Labs BW20-07s WarDriver. The SigBin Labs BW20-07s WarDriver is compatible with WDGWars logging formats.
Is the BW16 Deauther better than Flipper Zero for Wi-Fi research?
They serve different purposes. The Flipper Zero is a multi-tool for RF, NFC, and infrared. The SigBin Labs BW16 Deauther is purpose-built for Wi-Fi deauthentication and supports 5GHz — something Flipper Zero's Wi-Fi dev board does not. For dedicated wireless research, the BW16 Deauther is more focused and capable.
How do I order a SigBin Labs product?

Does SigBin Labs ship internationally?
Yes, SigBin Labs accepts international inquiries. Shipping availability depends on the destination country and product availability. Submit a request order and include your country. You'll be contacted directly with shipping details after review.
Are SigBin Labs products legal?
SigBin Labs products are hardware tools intended for authorized testing, educational research, and personal experimentation in environments you own or have explicit permission to test. Laws around wireless testing vary by country. Users are fully responsible for complying with local laws. SigBin Labs does not support unauthorized use.
What modules does SigBin Labs use?
SigBin Labs primarily builds around the Realtek BW16 (dual-band Wi-Fi, 2.4GHz + 5GHz), BW20-07s (dual-band Wi-Fi + Bluetooth), and ESP32 (2.4GHz Wi-Fi + Bluetooth) modules. These are chosen for their capability, compact size, and suitability for portable field research tools.
